The Woman in the Mirror by Rebecca James

The Woman in the Mirror by Rebecca James is one of the best suspense thriller I read in the recent times.

Back in 1947, Alice gets a job as a governess to the twins of Winterbourne. She can’t help falling for the Captain. But before she could dream any further, the house starts playing weird games. Just like the other women before her in Winterbourne, Alice loses her sanity and ends up in an asylum.

In the present day, Rachel in America receives a letter about Winterbourne property she acquired after death of her family. Being an adopted child, she never knew her roots but always wanted to find out her lineage. She decides to go to England to find about her family. Rachel finally finds out about her family, and the curse upon the de Greys.

This is a gripping novel with amazing twists. The detailing took my breath away. I couldn’t sleep at nights and the story seemed to bring a slight shiver down my spine. Extremely well written. The female leads are incredible. A must read, I must say! The book will be up for sale from March 17th, 2020.

Special thanks to Edelweiss Plus and Minotaur Books for sharing the ARC copy with me.
