  Cameo CR-4

OftheBlood
One malicious prince. Two rival kingdoms. And an innocent girl caught in the crossfire.
Raised in a war-ravaged continent, temptation comes to Calla Caldwell in the form of a charming and mysterious stranger. Giving in to his intimate seduction, her world is forever changed by a single bite.
Calla quickly learns the handsome stranger is vampire prince, Trystan Vladu. His bite was an attempt to claim and save her from a plot of vengeance generations in the making. However, the claws of that ancient vendetta are scraping ever closer.
Thrust into a new nightmare by the Prince of the corrupt kingdom of Morbeth, Calla is captured, tortured, and starved in the dank confines of his dungeon. While in captivity, she takes part in a séance with a witch of light where she contacts a departed relative—a Princess of Incendia—who bequeaths a gift to Calla that will tip the scales of good and evil . . . if she can learn to harness it.
With a dark tapestry of secrets, lies, and murder unraveling around her, Calla must learn to embrace the power roiling through her veins, or be snuffed out by the strangling fist of a malevolent darkness.

Velocities by Kathe Koja – Book Review

Velocities by Kathe Koja is a group of intense, bold, deep and dark short stories. There are thirteen stories and each story is a masterpiece in itself. The stories cover a wide variety of topics from love, death, pain, hope and a lot of others.

At Eventide, Toujours and The Marble Lily are my favorite stories. I really do not want to discuss the stories here but in some stories the author brings the darker side of the regular emotions for the reader to feel. They are dark and intense yet sensible and heart-breaking. The elements of the stories are rich and cunning in a special way.

Author Kathe Koja’s writing style is not regular but diverse and unique and she successfully presents her incredible vision to the readers in the most amazing way. This is the first time I am reading something like this. It definitely triggered a lot of emotions inside me.

I received the advance reviewer’s copy of this book from Meerkat Press for an honest review.

This book is releasing on 21st of April, 2020. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to try something different. You can buy this book here.

Tinted Windows by Blake Pierce – Book Review

Tinted Windows by Blake Pierce is an interesting psychological thriller. It is the 6th book in the series of A Chloe Fine Psychological Suspense Mystery. Chloe has her own demons to fight with because of her troubled past where she along with her sister Danielle bury their father Aiden.
FBI agent Chloe Fine along with Agent Rhodes arrives at the small town Pine Point to investigate the murder of a personal trainer Viktor Bjurman. Just about the time the local police department and the two agents start their questioning two more murders take place within three days time.

The investigation unearths lies, cheating in the marriages that are portrayed to be perfect in the town. No one can be trusted and everyone becomes a suspect. Chloe withe so many trust issues finds herself struggling with the case with so much dishonesty around her. Rhodes who is a perfect partner and also a well-wisher, helps Chloe overcome her struggles.

Author Blake Pierce’s writing style is amazing. I could not put down the book till I turned the last page. The story is gripping and the plot is intelligent. I totally enjoyed the book and the you may buy the book here.

I suggest all the suspense lovers read this book during this lock-down. It’s absolutely great. I received this book for an honest review from Booksirens.

Charleston Green by Stephanie Alexander – Book Review

Charleston Green by Stephanie Alexander is one of the wonderful books I read in the recent times. I can only imagine how beautiful this new color Charleston Green is after reading this book.

Tipsy Collins is a beautiful soul, an artist and strong and independent at heart. Tipsy arrives at her new home with her three kids to live at a new house after going through a rough divorce. She manages her work at her best friend’s art gallery, paints and also takes care of her kids all by herself.
Tipsy gets to put her supernatural skill to use to help two new ghost friends that she found at the new house. Jane and Henry who have been stuck at that home for a long time find answers to the questions that have been hanging between them since their deaths.

The climax twist was unexpected. The pace is excellent. The story is witty, lovely, romantic and awesome. I must admit this is the funniest ghost story, didn’t terrify me at all and made me think I might need a ghost friend for myself.

I don’t want to mention Tipsy’s ex-husband Ayers whom I thoroughly hated while reading the story. I also liked how the author used the divorce law in North Carolina and certain other states to explain the troubles faced by many women who tolerate emotional and physical abuse. I’m sure this story definitely gives hope to many a women to stay strong and do what their heart encourages them to do. Just stand up for yourselves! Author has smartly put the marital issues from a century ago and the present day in one story and takes the reader on a wonderful fictional ride.

I received the copy of Charleston Green from NetGalley for an honest review. Thank you BooksGoSocial for sharing the copy with me. The book is going to be published on 14th of April, 2020. I know you all are stuck at homes quarantining. Don’t miss a fun ride to Charleston through this book. You can buy the book here
