ANGEL FOR CHRISTMAS by Caroline Clemmons – Christmas Countdown Blitz!

Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To compensate for this illogical error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains in a small office her family calls her pink cave.

She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their rescued cats and dogs. The books she creates there have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards.

When a dot com billionaire crashes his sports car into a tree, he wakes up in heaven facing angels Gabriel and Michael. He’s given a chance to redeem his carefree ways by helping an orphanage avoid foreclosure and regain a sound financial picture by midnight on Christmas Eve—or else. To do so, he is sent back to earth as orphanage janitor, Jacob Porter.

After her father died four months ago, child psychologist Suzi Stephens was shocked to learn Serenity Springs Children’s Home and Elementary School faced foreclosure unless she met a balloon note due January 1. She can’t understand why her late father broke the trust her grandfather had carefully constructed to protect the private home. She is afraid the annual gala won’t raise enough money to pay the note much less the needed year’s operating funds. Trying to do her job plus step into her late father’s shoes has stretched her to her limits.

She’s suspicious of the handsome new janitor, who appears more like he’d be at home as a CEO. Could he be a spy for the developer who covets the children’s home property? Suzi overcomes her distrust enough to allow Jacob’s help raising funds. Working together, their attraction escalates but Jacob has nothing to offer the beautiful redhead. He is scheduled for earthly removal at midnight on December 24.

Snippet:
Suzi watched the
new janitor walk away. He puzzled her. Much too young and fit, why was he
working here? Not that there was anything wrong with being a janitor, but he
didn’t fit the profile. Jacob Porter gave the impression of someone who’d be in
a boardroom rather than behind a broom or mop.
She had to be
careful who she exposed the children to and she wanted to know more about him.
First, she had to get Missy her doll.
Back in her
office later, she asked Valerie for the janitor’s application. Nothing in his
file set off alarm bells. Background check, fingerprints, references. His
former employer had died, but there was no indication of why Jacob had applied
here.
Valerie asked,
“Did you find anything off-putting in his file?”
She tapped a
finger against the folder. “No, but I wonder if he’s a spy for the investor who
wants to buy the property?”
Valerie gasped.
“That explanation would make sense. Jacob Porter looks as if he belongs in a
three-piece suit and a tie.”

“He certainly
does.”

Jaguar by C.A. Gray – Character Casting

Sometimes the person you lie to the most is yourself.
The Silver Six have blown the Renegades’ underground compound to bits, killing several of Rebecca’s best friends in the process—and to her horror, the boy Rebecca had convinced herself she loved for all these years was the one to betray them all. At the same time, General Specs, the company Liam was once slated to inherit, has developed a superintelligent robot called Jaguar which is quickly becoming godlike in her omniscience. As the remaining Renegades flee to their last bastion of safety in the Caribbean, Liam makes his way back to London, in a last ditch effort to convince his father to destroy Jaguar before it’s too late.
Rebecca, meanwhile, finally understands her own heart: she never loved Andy. He was merely a ‘safe’ choice who would never require anything of her. Liam, on the other hand, exasperating as he was, had seen past her defenses. All of his teasing and provoking had been his attempt to get her to be real with him—but the more he made her feel, the further she had retreated. She had even substituted her companion bot Madeline for real, deep human friendships, and for the same reason: she’d been avoiding love to protect herself from another loss like the one she had experienced when her father was killed for the Renegades’ cause. Ironically, she only realizes this once Liam is on his way to a similar fate.  But she’ll be damned if she lets him go without a fight.
This high stakes conclusion to the Uncanny Valley Trilogy envisions a world not too far off from our own, in which superintelligence is a reality, humanoid bots have supplanted human power and influence, and there are eyes watching and reporting our every move. If humanity is to survive, the Renegades will have to galvanize support across the globe, under the radar—and it will require every last bit of ingenuity they possess. But is attempting to outwit a superintelligent being really the answer? Or will it require something much more fundamentally human?
This is the third book in this series.
Make sure you get all three books, so you don’t miss anything!!!

C.A. Gray is the author of the YA Fantasy PIERCING THE VEIL trilogy, as well as the YA Dystopian trilogy, THE LIBERTY BOX. By day, she is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD), with a primary care practice in Tucson, AZ. Additionally, she writes medical books under her real name.
Her favorite authors include J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins, and she also reads an exceptional amount of non-fiction. She is blessed with exceptionally supportive family and friends, and thanks God for them every single day!

Character Casting– Rebecca: 21, auburn/brown hair, greenish hazel eyes, pretty in a girl-next-
door kind of way. She can be bold, sarcastic, and yet timid in love. If she had a
verb, it would be “to perform” though — she’s an actress, very adept at hiding
her true emotions and conforming to others’ expectations of her. But in this
book she’s coming into her own.
– Liam: 25, dark hair, blue eyes — probably played by Liam Hemsworth
actually. Also bold and sarcastic, and his verb would be “to provoke.” He
constantly challenges the system and everyone’s expectations, and he pushes
Rebecca past her comfort zone.
– Francis: 23, long dark hair in a ponytail, pale, rarely smiles… think a young
Benedict Cumberbatch with long hair. He’s basically Sherlock Holmes: brilliant
but socially inept, but he learns to find his emotions in this book. His verb
would be “to brag”: he’s always telling everyone how awesome he is.
– Larissa: Red hair, ears that stick out, thick hornrim glasses, an expression sort
of like Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. She’s a programmer but with the
heart of a dreamer. Her verbs might be to delight in, to imagine, or to
envision.
– Karen: Rebecca’s mother, in her 50s, and the head of the Renegades,
otherwise known as “M.” She’s got short auburn hair, she’s wiry and energetic,
rational, and basically always right. Her verbs would be to command, to
dictate, to instruct, or to control.
– Val: Mousy brown hair, heart-shaped face, very sweet looking. She’s the
perennial pleaser, heart on her sleeve. She’s Liam’s ex-girlfriend and still in
love with him. Her verb might be “to nourish”: she feeds everyone, she listens,
she decorates, she empathizes.
– Nilesh: Indian, dark hair, relatively slight build (also a programmer). But he’s
vivacious and excitable, always up for adventure.
– Mack: He’s dating Karen: white hair, about 10 yrs older than she is (so in his
60s) and in pretty good shape for a guy his age. He’s good with his hands, Mr.
Fix-It, but much more Type B compared to Karen. His verbs might be to
comfort, encourage, or support. He’s very dad-like to Rebecca (whose dad
passed away).
– Jaguar: She is the primary antagonist in the story. She’s A.I. superintelligence,
but in the form of a 20-something girl who is in many ways much like a toddler
emotionally. She is pouty and dangerous when she doesn’t get her way, but
her voice is musical and charming, and she’s obsessed with the color red.
– Madeline: Rebecca’s companion robot: she’s about a foot to two feet tall,
silver, and on wheels, with wide eyes that take up about half her face. She’s
the ideal empathic friend, reflecting back to Rebecca all of her emotions.

– Liam Senior: Liam’s father, and he’s the CEO of General Specs (think Apple or
Amazon in this world), so high powered, but rather cowardly when it comes to
his own life. He’s very handsome, a 50-something year old version of his son.

Welcome to the books of
Christmas Past, Present and Future.

Eleanor is saving her grandmother’s fudge business but is becoming like Scrooge in the process.
The consultant she hires to help is a friend from high school who hasn’t given up his secret crush for her.
Will the Christmas spirit melt her heart or will she miss out on the love of her life?

Snippet:
She forgot she didn’t like crowds and that the play wasn’t a romance.
Most of all, she forgot Cam was only in town for business. All she could think
about was his hand brushing away her tears and his lips kissing hers. And she
never wanted the night to end.
